These flat weave Zemmour rugs were hand woven by Berber women in small villages of the Atlas Mountains using a traditional technique. The weave of the kilim is a tapestry weaves, technically weft-faced plain weaves. The horizontal weft strands are pulled tightly downward so that they hide the vertical warp strands. The Kilim Zemmour are produced by tightly interweaving the warp and weft strands of the weave to produce a flat surface with no pile. It is composed of rich, bright colors, sometimes with silver sequins, bands that can be folded and assembled to form a grain bag or to serve as a blanket. Each piece is unique and made from the finest grade of wool. Our breathtaking Zemmour collection is bohemian, retro, bold and chic. They are flat-resistant, which is perfect for the daily family life.
