Boujad is a large town located between the southern flank of the Zaer-Zaiane territories and the northeastern edge of the Rehamna region, area of Beni Mellal. The origin of this town is Arab and not Berber.
It has beautiful Berber patterns and symbols. It’s like if you can discover the phases of the life of the weaver. The vibrant colors is the first thing that attract your eyes in the room. All the carpets are individually crafted by hand. It may be slightly asymmetrical in their shape and pattern with some minor imperfections.
Their diversity in colors sets them apart as much from each other as from Boujad area flatweaves. One of the most amazing aspects of Moroccan rug art is how the Berber woman succeeds in shrouding her intimate self in abstract forms.
The Atlas mountains
Many carpets from the Middle Atlas (Boujad) will indicate the course of an event and if you have a little imagination, you can clearly recognize childhood, virginity, bridal state, union, pregnancy, birth pains, birth or even a newborn child.
This rug will look amazing in any boho chic interior. Adding a Moroccan rug to your home decor will give your space an unique touch and some subtle oriental flair.
